To all of those who said there are 6 holes, keep in mind that if there were only six holes, you'd see the back of the shirt through the holes in the front of the shirt. So it's either 7 or 8 depending on how big the hole is in the back of the shirt (the side you can't see).

The correct answer is "no it is not possible to determine the number of holes in the shirt". We cannot see the back of the shirt to see if there are any holes in the back of the shirt that are hidden by material in the front of the shirt.
